This simple question has been asked by virtually every entrepreneur I have met over the last few years. My response? Perhaps what you might expect from someone who runs a university entrepreneurship program. Yes! But at Cal State San Bernardino, we don’t teach entrepreneurship in the way you might think. We facilitate your personal learning by immersing you in the entrepreneurial process. You’ll start and run a business during your time in the program. You’ll interact with entrepreneurs, venture capitalists and business leaders from our community to learn from their success and failure. You’ll be mentored and guided by our entrepreneurial faculty. You’ll be expected to apply your learning each class in interactive sessions. And you’ll work on developing business plans, assessing the commercial potential of emerging technologies from our technology transfer office, and provide consulting services to local entrepreneurs. During the process, you’ll discover your own strengths, weaknesses, motivations and goals. Most importantly, you’ll discover your entrepreneurial potential – not by simply learning theories, but by experiencing the entrepreneurial process first hand.
Dr. Michael Stull,
Director & Associate Professor
CSUSB Entrepreneurship and Inland Empire Center for Entrepreneurship (IECE)
Within the context of an entrepreneurial campus environment, CSUSB has an outstanding array of academic and cultural programs led by dynamic faculty and staff. In fact, the entrepreneurial mindset is both embraced and nurtured on our campus. This spirit ranges from creative new ways to deliver programs and services all the way to students launching new businesses as part of their studies. Simply put, entrepreneurship thrives at CSUSB.
This entrepreneurial environment is readily apparent in our College of Business and Public Administration, where we offer one of the very top entrepreneurship programs in the nation. In fact, our graduate entrepreneurship program is ranked fourth nationally – and first among public universities – by the Princeton Review and Entrepreneur Magazine, which applaud its strong “hands-on” learning approach and extensive ties to the local business community.
I invite you to read on and learn about our outstanding entrepreneurship programs from the perspective of current students, faculty, and our alumni. We believe you’ll find that “the road to success” as an entrepreneur starts here at Cal State San Bernardino!
