Professor, Theatre Arts
Johanna Smith is a Professor of Theatre Education, American Childhood, Improvisation, and Puppetry at in the Theater Arts department in the College of Arts and Letters. She has been directing award-winning Children’s Theatre performances for over 15 years. She has studied the art of improvisation extensively and particularly loves working with majors outside the Theater Arts. For her Fellows project, Professor Smith is working to create an improvisation course for Entrepreneurship majors that will develop student competency in quick-thinking skills and “performative events” such as live pitches, networking, and presentations.
