Welcome to CSUSB Entrepreneurship!
Can Entrepreneurship Be Taught?
This simple question has been asked by virtually every entrepreneur I have met over the last few years. My response? Perhaps what you might expect from someone who runs a university entrepreneurship program. Yes! But at Cal State San Bernardino, we don’t teach entrepreneurship in the way you might think. We facilitate your personal learning by immersing you in the entrepreneurial process. You’ll start and run a business during your time in the program. You’ll interact with entrepreneurs, venture capitalists and business leaders from our community to learn from their success and failure. You’ll be mentored and guided by our entrepreneurial faculty. You’ll be expected to apply your learning each class in interactive sessions. And you’ll work on developing business plans, assessing the commercial potential of emerging technologies from our technology transfer office, and provide consulting services to local entrepreneurs. During the process, you’ll discover your own strengths, weaknesses, motivations and goals. Most importantly, you’ll discover your entrepreneurial potential – not by simply learning theories, but by experiencing the entrepreneurial process first hand.
