I am influenced by Oprah Winfrey, Coretta Scott King, and Annie Turnbo Malone. I do not currently have any mentors. That is why I am applying; because, I do need a mentor to guide me through the process.

Key Learning Attained from CSUSB Entrepreneurship:
While, I am not obtaining a degree in entrepreneurship I have learned a great deal from my sociology courses about the social and economic needs in this state as well as the country. I was on the dean’s list last year in my department with a 4.0 GPA. One of the key things I learned is the social and economic welfare in this country is dependent upon nonprofit organizations such as the one I am going to develop. For example in this state we have a huge homeless problem. I want to hire volunteers and contractors to build homeless housing out of used shipping containers. Qualifying residence that are interested can foster an animal. This will give homeless people and pets a place to live. I want to operate a non-profit pet adoption service as well. I will expand as my funding and support expands. There are so many needs I plan want to eventually cover in my organization donors will be able to donate towards the specific cause or project they feel most passionate about. I know the school can not give me money to take on such a huge project; however, I can learn how to write letters to request grants. If I get money for the program I will use that twords the $275 fee to start a non-profit. I am willing to start small and eventually reach my ultimate goal. The project will help many people not just myself; this is will be great look for your department as well. I plan move forward with this idea with or without the help of the school. However, I believe this project would be a great opportunity for all involved.

What Would Say to New Entrepreneurs:
I would say there are many new start up companies on the market you want to stand out and the best way to do that is by highlighting what makes you passionate about what you are doing. For me it was my dad who was homeless and my love for animals.
