Local firm celebrating 20th anniversary to receive the Master Entrepreneur Award
Scott and Beverly Bailey of Stronghold Engineering to receive special award at November 8 event!
Based in Riverside, Stronghold Engineering, Inc. is general, civil, and electrical design-build construction firm. The company was established in 1991 when Scott and Beverly Bailey had the idea to start a different kind of construction business – one based on the belief that quality should take precedence over any other project goal and, when achieved, everything else would fall in line.
Starting with just $3,000 and operating out of the Bailey’s home, the first three years of operation saw the company focus on small electrical contracts that helped them practice procedures and set the stage for further growth. Within a short period of time, the firm was pursuing government contract work throughout the Southwest. Stronghold began prime contracting in 1994 and constructed diverse projects from multiple government agencies such as the US Army Corps of Engineers, the US Department of the Navy, and the Department of Veterans Affairs, among many others.
From 1995 to 2004, the firm grew to 185 employees and had moved into a 25,000 square foot Riverside corporate headquarters as well as additional branch offices in California, Arizona, Hawaii and internationally. Recent years have seen further expansion including the creation of Lamb Energy and Stronghold Motorsports. In recognition of their achievements, Stronghold and the Bailey’s have won numerous Industry awards and received over 100 Outstanding Performance Evaluations and Outstanding Letters of Commendation.
The company has continued to grow and today exceeds the $100 million revenue mark with 250 employees – a notable achievement for a company that started at the kitchen table!
